Imparting intelligence to the machines has been one of the challenging thoroughfares in the computer vision research community. A plethora of classical approaches has been invented to solve real life problems in science, engineering, business and medicine. But most of these approaches suffer from imprecision and inaccuracy in some respects or other. In addition, almost each and every event in this work-a-day world exhibits a huge amount of uncertainty and ambiguity, which the classical approaches fail to address to any extent. Hence, scientists have come up with some intelligent techniques which can come to the rescue. These techniques have been found to perform better in handling uncertainties in existing problems. However, when these techniques are conjoined together, they culminate into more efficient and robust systems, even in highly unpredictable circumstances. Dr. Siddhartha Bhattacharyya did his Bachelors in Physics, Bachelors in Optics and Optoelectronics and Masters in Optics and Optoelectronics from University of Calcutta, India in 1995, 1998 and 2000 respectively. He completed PhD in Computer Science and Engineering from Jadavpur University, India in 2008. He is the recipient of the University Gold Medal from the University of Calcutta for his Masters. He is the recipient of the coveted National Award Adarsh Vidya Saraswati Rashtriya Puraskar for excellence in education and research in 2016. He is the recipient of the Distinguished HoD Award and Distinguished Professor Award conferred by Computer Society of India, Mumbai Chapter, India in 2017. Vaclav Snasel's research and development experience includes over 25 years in the Industry and Academia. He works in a multi-disciplinary environment involving artificial intelligence, multidimensional data indexing, conceptual lattice, information retrieval, semantic web, knowledge management, data compression, machine intelligence, neural network, web intelligence, data mining and applied to various real world problems. He has given more than 10 plenary lectures and conference tutorials in these areas. He has authored/co-authored several refereed journal/conference papers and book chapters. He has published more than 400 papers (147 is recorded at Web of Science). He has supervised many Ph.D. students from Czech Republic, Jordan, Yemen, Slovakia, Ukraine and Vietnam. From 2001 he is a visiting scientist in the Institute of Computer Science, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. From 2003 he is vice-dean for Research and Science at Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, VSB-Technical University of Ostrava, Czech Republic. He is full professor since 2006. Before turning into a full time academic, he was working with industrial company where he was involved in different industrial research and development projects for nearly 8 years. He received Ph.D. degree in Algebra and Geometry from Masaryk University, Brno, Czech Republic and a Master of Science degree from Palacky University, Olomouc, Czech Republic. Besides, the Editor-in-Chief of two journals, he also serves the editorial board of some reputed International journals. Indrajit has done my Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Computer Science and Engineering from University of Burdwan in 2005. Later, he completed Master of Technology (M.Tech) in Information Technology from Bengal Engineering and Science University, Shibpur in 2009 and stood first to receive University Medal. Indrajit obtained Ph.D in Engineering from Department of Information Technology, Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur in 2015. His present research interest includes community detection, social network analysis and cloud computing. Professionally he has started as Lecturer in CSE/IT at Siliguri Institute of Technology, Siliguri, West Bengal in July 2005. Later in 2006, he moved to RCC Institute of Technology, Kolkata as Lecturer in IT. Presently he is serving there as Associate Professor of IT. In addition to this, Indrajit is the Program Coordinator of B. Tech (IT). Apart from Teaching, he takes active part in organizing Conferences and Training programs for students and faculty members. He also extends active support for different administrative works of the Department and the Institute. Indrajit has a number of research publications in different International journals and conferences. Prof. (Dr.) Debashis De, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, WB, India
Prof. Debashis De earned his M.Tech from the University of Calcutta in 2002 and his Ph.D (Engineering) from Jadavpur University in 2005. He is a senior member of the IEEE. Life Member of CSI and member of the International Union of Radio science. He worked as R&D engineer for Telektronics. He is the head of the department and Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of the West Bengal University of Technology, India, and Adjunct research fellow at the University of Western Australia, Australia. He was awarded the prestigious Boyscast Fellowship by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, to work at the Herriot-Watt University, Scotland, UK. He received the Endeavour Fellowship Award during 2008�2009 by DEST Australia to work at the University of Western Australia. He received the Young Scientist award both in 2005 at New Delhi and in 2011 at Istanbul, Turkey, from the International Union of Radio Science, Head Quarter, Belgium. His research interests include location and handoff management, mobile cloud computing, traffic forecasting, green mobile networks, and low power nanodevice designing for mobile applications. He has published in more than two hundred peer-reviewed international journals in IEEE, IET, Elsevier, Springer, World Scientific, Wiley, IETE, Taylor Francis and ASP, sixty International conference papers, four researches monographs in springer, CRC, NOVA and ten text books published by Person education, Vikas publishers.
